So... I mostly use Packt for Python and cloud-related stuff, and it's been reliable for me. The code examples usually line up with the versions they mention, and I don’t run into many mistakes. Nothing flashy, but it’s solid when I just need to look something up fast

I’ve picked up a few Packt books over time, mostly for tech-related stuff, and honestly?? It’s been a bit of a mixed bag for me!!! Some of the authors really seem to know their stuff, and you can tell they’re explaining things from actual real-world experience... not just repeating theory. Those ones are super helpful!! But then there are a few that felt kind of rushed?? Like the editing was uneven, or the examples could’ve used another round of checking. So yeah... I think it really depends on who wrote the book. Overall, Packt can be useful, but I’d definitely read the reviews first and choose carefully!!! Not bad at all, just kinda hit-or-miss for me

I’ve been using the site for a bit and it’s easy to get around. The search works okay for finding what I need, and the reader loads fine most of the time. Only thing is I kinda wish the filters were clearer, sometimes it takes me a sec to figure out what I’m actually narrowing down.

For me, the subscription has been worth it. There are plenty of books and videos to choose from, so it’s not hard to get your money’s worth if you actually use it. Some of the content does feel a bit outdated, but for the price, I still think it’s a good deal overall

For the most part, the recommendations line up with what I usually read, which is nice. Every recommendation system seems to miss the mark here and there, and this one does too sometimes, but overall it gets my taste well

Most of the ebooks I bought are easy to read and the layout is generally good, so I’ll give them credit for that. But I do feel a little misled because I expected the formatting to be smoother across devices. Some of the code blocks wrap really awkwardly on my tablet, which makes them annoying to follow. Overall, they’re still readable, but the experience isn’t as polished as I thought it would be.

Not saying it’s a scam, but the site has been frustrating to use lately. Pages take forever to load, and checkout froze on me twice, which definitely made me hesitate before trying again.

I’ve used Packtpub on and off for a few courses and books, mostly when I was trying to pick up some new tech or fill in gaps in stuff I already knew a bit about. The selection is nice, and at first it felt convenient having everything in one place. Some of the material was fine to skim through, especially if I just needed a quick reminder or wanted to see how a topic was structured. That said, after spending more time with it, I realized I wasn’t actually learning as much as I expected. A lot of the explanations moved quickly, and some examples felt outdated or not explained clearly enough. If you already know the basics, it can be okay as extra reference material, but trying to learn from scratch was kind of frustrating. I ended up using YouTube and official docs way more than the actual Packt content.

I don’t think I’m expecting anything unreasonable here, just the basic reading experience to feel smoother.

It covers the basic stuff well, and I didn’t have trouble following along. But when it gets into newer tools or more niche topics, it starts to feel kind of thin. It’s useful if you’re just getting started, but compared to some other resources I’ve used...

I tried this expecting to get a bit deeper into the topic, but it felt surface-level. It’s fine for a quick overview or that kind of thing, but if you’re trying to seriously learn, this probably won’t be enough.
